Fount Magazine #02poster
Fount Magazine’s ‘The mash-up’ category is an artist-exchange platform. In the 1st round artists from all over the world provided works of art, inspired by the theme ‘Connect’.
Then followed the 2nd round in which Studio Studio had the opportunity to be creative with a piece of art by Nikolai Dobreff. He invited us to connect the old fashioned way, by writing with pen and paper.
We got inspired by words he wrote and designed a poster based on his letters.
First we mashed up his question and freely distilled his message. In a second stade we got inspired by the meaning of the words and decided to add graphic elements.
Leven in ‘t Parkbooklet — flyer — identity — poster
Every year the city of Destelbergen (Belgium) organizes a festival called Leven in ’t Park. Studio Studio was invited to submit a proposal for this occasion. The submitted design visualizes the course of the festival which consist of 3 parts (of ‘timetables’): morning, afternoon and evening. Several activities were planned during those times. We designed a typographic image for the general recognizability.
Winter Lente Zomer Herfstart work — poster
For the new EP’s of Hermitage, Studio Studio was asked to do the artwork.
Every season Hermitage is releasing a part of their new album WinterLenteZomerHerfst.
A new color is revealed with a part of the black shape to complete the full artwork.
Tumult In Gent #5art festival — poster
Tumult.fm, the culture platform of Urgent.fm organizes for the fifth time in a row TUMULTINGENT. The collaboration between four curators, three ambassadors and forty artists creates TIG#5: a versatile arts festival with three extraordinary locations.
Studio Studio made a series of three screen prints, named Volatile. These screen prints can be bought separately as well as in series.

Nrmal, a unique music festival that takes place in Mexico City asked Studio Studio to collaborate in a poster exhibition held during the festival. They curated a list of 30 international graphic artists and freelance designers with a strong approach to experimentation and a very personal insight of design. The idea was that each designer creates one artwork with a very simple topic or theme “to discover”.
Creatica Art Auction 02art work — poster
The student association of St. Lucas, Antwerp, Creatica, asked Studio Studio again to donate work to sell at their art auction. The Art Auction itself became a highlight in the cultural activities of the school. A lot of people came to help raise money for the student association to organize activities such as equipment for workshops, analog photography, film developing and printing, and trips to museums.
CrossCast, a Belgian talent pool organization, invited Studio Studio to create an unusual but fun newsletter design, wishing their clientele a happy New Year.
Together with copywriter Jill Mahieu we came up with a spam-a-like email. The text was designed in an onomatopoeia and typographic manner.
We were not afraid to show some ugliness to refer to some good old spam!
Vlaams Fruitart direction — booklet — flyer — identity — logo
Vlaams Fruit offers qualitative (textual) theater for adults and a younger (inter-)national public. It’s a creative place for professional artists and makers. The art centre exists of two theatres, Het Appeltje and Het Klokhuis, two of the last authentic theatres in Antwerp.
Studio Studio developed the visual identity for the flemish art centre Vlaams fruit. Starting with a logo that can be used with constructed and deconstructed elements the diversion of the two theatres is shown in a dynamic way.

For the new program of Antwerp based Theatre company Vlaams Fruit, Studio Studio designed the new season brochure.
Vlaams Fruit offers qualitative (textual) theater for adults and a younger (inter-)national public. It’s a creative place for professional artists and makers.
The program booklet is an updated and playful new overview of the plans presented for this upcoming season and focusses on the unique character of this small but significant theatre.
De Gouden Ganzenveerbook
Eight graphic designers from Flanders and The Nederlands were chosen to pitch their design for the upcoming edition of the Gouden Ganzenveer publication.
The jury consisted out of five professionals, namely Gerdi Verbeet, Steph Scholten, Arie Lenoir, Ewan Lentjes & Paul Verrept.
For this publication, Studio Studio created a clear and modern way of reading by mixing the ‘classic’ way of typesetting and the visual gathering of letters and colors on a piece of paper.

De Gouden Ganzenveer
By vanharten logologo
Studio Studio created a new logo for Dutch design label By vanharten.
The versatile and playful logo will be used for several purposes, like hangtags and woven labels, but also in print and online. It fluently accompanies the clean and minimal designs of By vanharten in a light and elegant way.
Nauvanart direction — identity — webshop
Studio Studio created the visual identity for Belgium based design Studio Nauvan.
This studio focuses on the purity of modern object in daily life and creates a refined balance between material and design. Studio Studio integrated a polished and modern identity and website to point out the story of Nauvan.
This limited publication is an overview of the photo series Pink Memories by conceptual photographer Cheyenne Dekeyser. Studio Studio came up with the editorial concept of connecting dreams and reality throughout the paper. The reader look at the images hidden by pink silk paper. The transparency and thickness of the paper require a dreamy way of reading.
Form Magazine n° 265magazine
The line-based print Studio Studio made earlier this year was featured on the cover of Form Magazine.
This design shows a continuation of lines, inspired by the quote of Rudolf Arnheim: “While verbal thinking and visual thinking are distinct, thinking and seeing cannot be separated”.
The title of this Form issue is ‘Designing time’ and gives a new and intriguing meaning to the design.
Another design from the same line-series was used for the inside cover. Studio Studio also did an interview about graphic design and living and working in Ghent.

Nike SS16 T-shirtsart work — t-shirt — typography
Studio Studio was asked to design two prints for Nike.
The commissioned prints are used for two black and white T-shirts as part of the Nike SS16 Sports collection.
In the design psychedelic rhythms play with the signature line ‘Just do it’ and the iconic Nike logo.
The T-shirts are available in selected Nike stores now.
Colorblindidentity — logo — scenography
COLORBLIND is the newest educational production of theatre company Vlaams Fruit. It’s about an experiment controlled by three adults and about revealing some dark secrets.
During the play the students participate in an interactive testcase which is connected to the scenography and logo that Studio Studio designed. The logo is created with a powerfull blend of geomatric shapes and is build with patterns you will also find in the scenography.

Cultuurgids ’16-’17book — flyer — identity
The University of Leuven (KULeuven) asked Studio Studio to participate to a commissioned pitch to design the cultural guide for upcoming school year.
Studio Studio made a proposal in which a bright line reflects the dynamics within the cultural functioning of the University.
This design points out the many benefits of this sector and these are highlighted to the numerous students in an effortless, yet sharp way.
Creatica Art Auctionart work — poster
Creatica is the student association of St. Lucas, Antwerp. Studio Studio was asked to support them by offering a number of designs to sell at an art auction. With the vibrant help of Mr. Moralis (auctioneer at Campo & Campo) they sold the work of numerous graphic agencies and independent artists in this auction.
For visual artist Saithama, Studio Studio designed a new website. This website is a virtual exhibition that envisions a coming of age story. The website isn’t only an overview of the works, but it’s a complete autonomous work in itself.
Saithama creates storytelling compositions of emotions such as passion, despair acceptance and pleasure. Executed manually with great care and precision according to a selfcalculated repetition technique. Studio Studio implemented a magnifying-glass tool to be sure that no detail stays unseen.
We also designed postcards that accompany the website in a promotional way.
Zaza Bertrand is a Belgian photographer based in Ghent, Belgium. She obtained a Master degree with great distinction in photography in 2011 with her series ‘So Far So Close’.
Studio Studio (re)designed the website, where the beautiful images and it’s distinctive colors are featured at it’s best quality.
A clear, minimalistic, responsive website with subtle, yet strong typography complementing the photography.
Kavka is a multi purpose cultural center for the youth in Antwerp.
Studio Studio designs the poster for their monthly event calendar. Every month a new playful concept follows up in the series. All posters are printed in A2 format and spread throughout the streets of Antwerp.
A poster paperposter
A Poster Paper is a visual paper with art prints on both sides of the paper so the prints can be individually styled in your home. The paper consists out of 50×70 cm art prints in the paper – a great mix between abstract art, graphic prints and drawings. The first featured artists are danish author and artist Mads Munch, artist Zenia Kirkegaard & Studio Studio.

Toegepast 20art direction — catalogue — identity — scenography — website
Toegepast is a design competition where Cultuurplatform Design, in collaboration with House for contemporary art Z33, selects recently graduated designers to allow them to work on their own project for one year.
Together with furniture designer Adriaan Tas, Studio Studio took care of the scenography and the graphic design for the exhibition Toegepast 20. In this exhibition the process gets just as much attention as the final product. By means of an archive system, not only the result but also the steps taken to reach that result are shown. Each design stage was given a category in the archive, namely: input, process and output. These categories are linked with a symbol that mark the custom made archive system.

Mad Surprize! 2015flyer — identity — poster — scenography
Mad Suprize! is a young belgian design award which gives a chance to several designers in the categories of product, textile and graphic design. Mad Surprize! revealed in previous editions a generation of talents that is now part of the momentum of design in Belgium.
Studio Studio developed the visual identity for the Mad Suprize! Design Awards 2015. Starting with sharp cut geometric shapes for the Open Call poster evolving towards soft amorphous shapes towards the final window graphics of the exhibition. The scenography was done together with Arko Studio.
By vanharten Lookbook 2016lookbook — product photography
Studio Studio did the graphic design and product photography for the lookbook of Dutch design label By vanharten. This lookbook shows the new collection for 2016 entitled Wear/Ware. A continuous collection of garments, accessories and home products. By challenging functionality in a fun and unusual way, Wear/Ware results in a complementary mix between functional homeware and wearable garments.
This lookbook shows the versatile collection in a clear and informative way. Small typographic elements clarify the function of the products and garments in a strong, yet supportive role.
10 jaar Hermitage Liveart work
After several years of collaborating with Hermitage, Studio Studio had the pleasure of designing the artwork for their 10th year anniversary.
Following up on the album cover for ‘Alleen de liefde kan u redden’ the same symbols were used. This artwork is a mix of merely typography and symbols in red, black and white, highlighting 10 years of live music from Hermitage.
Campaignflyer — poster
At Art Truc Troc, the annual art fair in the Bozar, Studio Studio was selected to create their own promotional campaign thoughout the city centre of Brussels. This resulted in a poster and a flyer with a positive Studio Studio vibe.
The campaign was released on the 1th of June 2015 and was showcased at several cultural oriented locations such as Ancienne Belgique, Botanique, Bozar, Wiels Art Centre and many more.
Het Entrepotidentity — pitch
Het Entrepot is an open house and creative workspace for young talent.
Studio Studio did a pitch for the new visual identity for Het Entrepot. The letter E is the binding element and can be used in a variety of fonts or symbols. Studio Studio’s proposition was not selected and came second.
Sfinks festival 2015art direction — poster
Sfinks Mixed is the four day free festival in Boechout, Belgium. The festival is known for its unique and adventurous musical offer and festive side programme, building bridges between different cultures.
Studio Studio restyled the identity of the festival in 2015 (the former work of Elisa Kint). A playful, dancing line works it’s way through the elements and creates a dynamic, fluid atmosphere for this upbeat festival.
Hermitageart work — identity
Hermitage is a Belgian band with singer/songwriter Divan as lead singer. Studio Studio designed the artwork for their second album and tour ‘Alleen de liefde kan u redden’, in which a cube symbolizes the human heart.
This concept is visualised in the communication (poster, cd and vinyl) and scenography of their entire tour, in which the cubes were used as luminous stage objects.
Majo de Saedeleer is a writer and the former president of Stichting Lezen (Foundation for the promotion of reading).
Studio Studio designed her book Anders, a collection of Majo’s texts and drawings by her grandchildren. The book looks playful, with different letter sizes and other typographic interventions complementing the children’s artwork

Art Truc Troc 2015art work — poster
Art Truc Troc is an annual event that combines an art auction with the exhibition of work by upcoming Belgian design talent. They selected Studio Studio to design a series of posters for their exhibition in Bozar.
For this project, Studio Studio was inspired by the encyclopedia, one of the first victims of digitalization. Paying tribute to this medium, Studio Studio inverts its hierarchy and plays with its characteristic elements.

When the light is OK in Lille, Rotterdam, The Hague, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Berlin, Copenhagen, Mälmo, Warsaw, Sankt Gallen. Our conversations contain both light and filtering. The words we find express our meaning, one snapshot, instantaneous filtering of a clearer light.

Thanks to present-day mobility and connectivity it was possible to travel around Europe to look for local graphic idiosyncrasies. Projects were initiated on various locations. Meetings with local graphic designers were provocative and helped to question boundaries. Cultural characteristics were used to translate concepts to multi-disciplinary graphic design projects.
