Continuo, the UGent Alumni and Personnel Orchestra, has opted for a musical adventurous course. With “Onbegrensd”, the orchestra briefly omits European musical traditions and explores the broad musical spectrum beyond. The repertoire includes the African-American composer Florence Price, who elegantly interweaves classical music with blues, and the Syrian composer Shalan Alhamwy, who echoes images from Aleppo in his music. In addition, the orchestra unites its forces with the Taiwanese soprano Chia-Fen Wu, Fem Devos (piano), Iranian soloist Ehsan Yadollahi (tar) and Paul Klinck (violin), all conducted by Kevin Hendrickx.

Fount Magazine #02
Fount Magazine’s ‘The mash-up’ category is an artist-exchange platform. In the 1st round artists from all over the world provided works of art, inspired by the theme ‘Connect’.
Then followed the 2nd round in which Studio Studio had the opportunity to be creative with a piece of art by Nikolai Dobreff. He invited us to connect the old fashioned way, by writing with pen and paper.
We got inspired by words he wrote and designed a poster based on his letters.
First we mashed up his question and freely distilled his message. In a second stade we got inspired by the meaning of the words and decided to add graphic elements.
