Loveld is a Belgian company specialising in architectural precast concrete façades, founded in 1985 in Aalter by Bernard Buys, André Vanhulle and Ivan Willems, with a sister office in the United Kingdom. To mark the thirty-fifth anniversary of the company, Studio Studio designed a commemorative book documenting its evolution and a selection of significant projects realised in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
The object was made in direct reference to the material the company works with. A Swiss binding leaves the spine open, exposing the stitching in the same way Loveld’s panels are left visible on the façades it produces. The linen cover is printed in subtle black screen printing, quiet against the texture of the cloth. Inside, the book is organised into distinct sections dealing with projects, materials and the history of the company, with the sequencing of the pages taking its cue from the brutalist restraint that runs through the built work itself.
