The project Fedrigoni 365 2025 is structured as a dual publication built around a single constraint: opposites. The edition consists of two volumes, “light” and “dark”, housed in a different multicoloured slipcases.

Each volume covers 365 days, resulting in 730 entries in total. For every date, two opposing seed words set the frame. The books are printed in silver on either light or dark papers.

Since 2017, Fedrigoni has developed the publication by inviting creatives to interpret a randomly assigned date. In 2025, the project expands beyond the UK with a curated selection of international contributors. For each date, two creatives respond to opposing prompts, one placed in each volume. Participants do not see the opposing design until the edition launches in November.

Our contribution is assigned to 23 October. The seed word is “Elastic”. Our entry is based on the definition of “Elastic”: an object or material that resumes its normal shape spontaneously after being stretched or compressed. We treated that definition as the constraint for the visual construction of the number.
